Le Tonquet: A late goal from Yuika Sugasawa gave Japan a share of the spoils, as the Asian champions completed their FIFA Women’s World Cup France 2019 preparations with a 1-1 draw against Spain on Sunday.
The Urawa Red Diamonds striker hit the back of the net with five minutes remaining, levelling the tie after Japan trailed for more than an hour following Jennifer Hermoso’s first half penalty kick.
With their France 2019 build-up now complete, Asako Takakura’s side will turn their gaze to their opening assignment in the tournament proper, against Argentina in Paris on June 10.

Standing at 1.68m tall, the 28-year-old is among the tallest members of Asako Takakura's 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup France squad. The Urawa Reds player also boasts speed and times her shots to perfection.
These qualities were on show in the final of the Asian Games 2018’s Women’s Football Tournament. Japan had struggled to break down a full-strength China PR, but following a last-gasp counter-attack, Sugasawa’s diving header from an Emi Nakajima cross grabbed them the trophy.

Kuala Lumpur: Ri Hyang-ok, from DPR Korea, is one of the 12 Asian referees and assistant referees selected to officiate in the FIFA Women’s World Cup which begins in France next week.
And for the former DPR Korea player and experienced referee, it will be her final bow from refereeing duties after officiating in her first-ever FIFA Women’s World Cup in Canada in 2015.
Ri, who also represented her country as a player in two FIFA Women’s World Cup - in 1999 and 2003 - said: “As a player, I represented my country in two FIFA Women’s World Cup, but I didn’t qualify from the group stage. That’s why I decided to become a referee, so my dream is to officiate in the Finals."
